Scolton Manor valuation day

9/09/2019     Latest News

A big star made an appearance at the Manor this week when Sir Anthony Hopkins appeared in front of Nigel Hodson! It was in fact a portrait drawing by well known Swansea artist Valerie Ganz, brought in for valuation and consigned to the November Fine Art Sale.

This was just one of many items discussed and valued on the busiest valuation day we have ever held at this venue. Hopefully boding well for the series of similar days we have planned in the next few weeks. Interesting items were left to be sold and some will come back in the next week or so for future sales. Particular items viewed include a collection of guns, a silver Monteith bowl with unusual marks, a good ormolu two train mantel clock, jewellery, watches, medals, pottery and porcelain, a nice old teddy bear and many curios.

Next week we are in Lampeter Museum on Thursday  12th September 10am-2pm and the following we will be at an interesting new venue The Castell Malgwyn Hotel at Llechryd near Cardigan on Thursday 19th September 10am-2pm, which has a very interesting collection of modern art on view in the premises. Things to see at both venues so we look forward to meeting you and valuing your treasures!

We have valuation days throughout South Wales running through into October. See our valuation day calendar to see if we are in your area here: Valuation Days
