Rare bottle of Royal Welsh whisky from the Welsh Whisky Distillery, circa 1900. The label reading 'As supplied to HM the Queen and HRH the Prince of Wales', and 'It is distilled with the greatest possible care from malt only, and is absolutely pure. Connoisseurs pronounce it quite unique, and as a wholesale stimulant it is very highly recommended'. Proprietor - William Owen, White Lion Royal Hotel, Bala, North Wales. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT)
Liquid level upper shoulder. Label in good overall condition, some minor chips to the perimeter. Cork has some losses particularly through upper section (see additional image) and has been taped around the top of the neck. Provenance: Vendor's grandparents are from/lived in Bala area, it is believed the grandfather obtained the bottle in the 1920s and it has been in the family's possession ever since (90+ years).
