Peter Francis Auctioneers are holding our second annual online only timed auction of vintage fashion and accessories to start midday on the 25th March and run until midday on the 1st April. The sale is online only and all bidding is through www.the-saleroom.com.
All lots will be displayed for viewing at our premises on Old Station Road, Carmarthen, SA311JN on the afternoon of Tuesday 26th March 2-5pm, alongside our 27th March regular collectables auction.
Vintage fashion is an ever growing area at Peter Francis Auctioneers but you will find that the prices are still very affordable. Where else can you pick up a Burberry duffle coat for just £80-120*?
We have a wide variety of vintage lots from a 20’s sequin bolero through to 80’s jumpsuits. The lots are made up of a range of labelled and handmade items. This includes a good selection of designer fashion including; two lots that include hats by Christian Dior, a Jean Varon 60’s wedding dress with accessories estimated at £60-80*, a linen 80’s shirt dress by Pallant of London estimated at £60-80* and a Mary Quant mini dress for an affordable £30-50*. A particularly interesting lot from a well known high street retailer is a 1920’s black beaded flapper dress from Debenhams (then called Debenhams & Freebody) which due to its condition is only estimated at £30-50*. Out of the handmade items three 1940’s crepe dresses are the highlight with an estimate of £50-70*.
This auction will also include a wide selection of menswear, vintage and more modern. The highlight of which is a lot of two Cambrian Factory 70’s tweed jackets with vintage trousers and two pairs of vintage shoes by Grensons estimated at £60-80*.
As well as vintage clothing we have some early 20th Century items which are highlights of the sale such as two beautifully preserved Egyptian Assuit shawls with estimates of £100-200* each and an embroidered Qing dynasty Chinese robe with a £150-250* estimate.
Of local interest there is a collection of vintage clothing by Cara of Aberystwyth which includes some lovely cotton printed items with Cara Sioned Llywelyn Wales labels, a Welsh tapestry coat by Reseta of Wales and an antique traditional stovepipe Welsh hat.
