Charity sales and Events

As a firm Peter Francis has always been keen to support charities, whether local or national. Captain Peter Francis instigated a policy of not charging any sellers commission to registered charities and this free of charge service continues to this day. This enables any charitable organisation to be sure of realising the maximum profit for items through our sales without any costs whatsoever. Free valuation prior to sale is available for all our clients.

Some examples of recent charity sales are Lot 211 in our 11th July fine auction which was a Derek Scott painting sold in aid of Tenovus Cancer Care that made £180 and various lots in our 7th March collectables auction sold in aid of a local charity the Xcel project including various boxes of toys that made over £400 in total.

Individual members of the Peter Francis team also do their bit to help support charities. They have conducted charity auctions in the locality and regularly give talks and valuation evenings to help raise funds. Principal Nigel Hodson is quite well known for his ‘Antiques & Anecdotes’ entertaining valuation evenings that he undertakes for charities and organisations, without charge (travelling expenses and a bottle of Scotch might apply!).
