We are all delighted to announce that the doors of  “The best little saleroom in the West” have reopened on the 22nd June, albeit by appointment only and with changes and conditions as you would no doubt understand. We will be holding our first auction live online on the 1st July with viewings by appointment only.

 

We closed on 23rd March to protect our staff and customers as the Covid-19 crisis took hold, as instructed by government.  In reopening such considerations will remain absolutely paramount.  Viewings, deliveries and collections will all be strictly by appointment, no exceptions.  Future auctions will be online only, behind closed doors although we hope this will change in time to be able to revert to a more traditional way of operating.  You will be able to view, by appointment only, with numbers in the saleroom strictly limited to accommodate this, and times and days extended to give as much opportunity as possible.  Social distancing rules will apply and PPE will be advised with hand sanitising on entry essential.  No appointment no admittance.

 

Our first auction is planned on the 1st July and this includes some good ceramics, silver and jewellery, an interesting selection of pictures and a ridiculously low mileage BMW motor car (its new!).   All lots will have additional photographs online  and of course condition reports will be available as usual.

 

Our sales for the time being will be held as live online sales and we are pleased to announce that a second live bidding platform will be available with an alternative attractive cost structure giving the options of www.the-saleroom.com or www.easyliveauction.com to our buyers.  We will also accept telephone bidding on lots where lines are available and accept commission bids as usual where we bid on your behalf to a set figure.  Commission bids will not be accepted at the counter but will be taken by phone or Email.  Payments in future for purchased lots will be by Bank transfer or card at the counter, no cheques or cash unless extenuating circumstances.  We continue not to accept Credit Cards.  Collection of lots post sale will  be by appointment only at fixed timings with of course social distancing applying.

 

Since lockdown we have continued to provide online valuations and have had requests from all around the world, which has been interesting.  We will of course continue to do this as well as bringing back our Friday Free valuation days at the saleroom.  However, these will change to be strictly by appointment with large consignments not accommodated unless special arrangements are made. Our valuers will be on the road in July making house calls where appropriate and we will be out collecting with our vans.

 

After the 1st July sale the next will be on the 22nd July as we revert to the previously publicised calendar for the remainder of the year.  (No sale 8th July).

 

We very much look forward to welcoming you back.  The changes are essential but will no doubt ease with time and the return to more normality.  There have been some staff changes of late with retirements, promotions and new faces so with a new team in place we look forward to a successful future.
