A FINE ANGLO INDIAN IVORY TEA CADDY, of straight sided rectangular form with stepped hinged cover having brass looped handle that is hall marked silver, standing on bracket feet overall decorated with reserved panels depicting various dwellings, within pen work foliate bands. The interior fitted with three English silver rectangular caddy's each having hinged covers with urn shaped finials and armorial devices carrying the motto "Dread God", overall decorated with foliate engraved banding and each engraved to the inner rim "Watson", Fecit, Strand, London name also on the lock plate. Makers Thomas Holland London, hall marked London 1805, each with repeat mark to cover. Late 18th / early 19th century Vizagapatam, India. 10.5" Wide x 6" Deep x 6" High. |
